Water level looks low at the north end — anyone know why?

Walked the shoreline this morning and the level is down at least a foot from last week. The end of my neighbor’s dock is basically sitting on mud now.

Is the dam being drawn down for scheduled maintenance, or is this just the dry spell we’ve had? Trying to figure out if I should pull my boat before it gets worse.

Official answer: the dam is being drawn down about 18 inches for the annual valve inspection. It’ll be back to normal pool by the end of next week. Nothing to worry about — this is routine.

Good to know. I’ll leave the pontoon in then. Thanks for the quick answer!

That makes total sense — appreciate it. I’ll stop panicking about my dock 😅

Same thing happens every June. If your boat lift is on the low side it’s worth double-checking the cables while the water’s down — easiest time to inspect them.
